It is with profound pleasure, humility and anticipation that we celebrate the launch of Online Journal (Indraprastha Law Review : ILR) of University School of Law and Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi with this inaugural issue. On behalf of the Indraprastha Law Review (ILR) team of Editors, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the readership of ILR. I take this opportunity to thank our authors, editors and anonymous reviewers, all of whom have volunteered to contribute to the success of the journal in its current format. We intend to make ILR a bi-annual journal to begin with and graduating to quarterly journal in the days to come.
All kinds of legal issues that get articulated these days involve inherently interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary issues in nature and involve intellectual activities which go beyond the confines of legal realm. It is in this sense of the term that Julius Stone, talked about Law and Jurisprudence being lawyer’s extra-version. ILR is dedicated to the rapid dissemination of high quality research papers on all emerging dimensions of law and legal research. An enormous amount of work has gone into preparing the groundwork of this journal and I believe that our readers will see that effort getting reflected in this and ensuing issues of the journal. ILR would provide an ideal platform and forum for publishing full length papers, research notes, survey papers, work in progress reports on promising developments in law and legal field, case studies, best practices articles written by industry experts and legal professionals, reviews of legislations proposed and passed and case law reviews.
We welcome all those contributors whose write ups have demonstrated the critical analysis of contemporary socio-economic and politico-legal events, particularly the ones that take an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches as they involve real world problems with utmost complexity. We are committed to publishing all such manuscripts which receive a high or top priority recommendations from reviewers during the double blind review process within a time bound manner so as to enhance their impact factor on the contemporary world scenario. We intend to periodically issue special calls for papers to modernise and strengthen areas of researches and development to come up with special issues, as and when necessary in view of the fast evolving socio-legal environment of the country and the world. We promise to provide a timely and high quality reviews of your papers and a short decision and publication cycle.
But of all there were none he liked so well as those of the famous Feliciano de Silva’s composition, for their lucidity of style and complicated conceits were as pearls in his sight, particularly when in his reading he came upon courtships and cartels, where he often found passages like “the reason of the unreason with which my reason is afflicted so weakens my reason that with reason I murmur at your beauty;” or again, “the high heavens render you deserving of the desert your greatness deserves.”
Peer review is the actual pillar of a journal’s success and it depends on the quality and inspiration of its reviewers. The performance of the referees is also important to the authors, who have the right to a rapid and fair review. Thus, we have selected our Editorial Board and reviewers carefully on the basis of their proficiency in the subject, scholarly achievements, rational integrity and commitment to the journal. Matters of opinions are crucial in the construction of arguments in the legal arena. We intend to steer clear of all kinds of political views or ideologies of any kind; instead, we will strive to be inclusive, to respect diversity of opinions, and to the extent possible and present all sides of an issue fairly.
If you have any questions, suggestions or even concerns, kindly address them to usllsiplr@ipu.ac.in
We hope that you find ILR informative and providing critical inputs to the thinking processes of a legal mind.
